▶️Getting Started

Setup Friend Gate bot

To get started, visit https://friendgate.tech/.

You will be asked to sign in with your Discord account. We only ask for read permissions to get the servers you are a part of.

Once you sign in, you will be redirected to the Dashboard.

Dashboard

On the dashboard, you will see all servers that you are an owner of.

Add bot to server

Now you can add the bot to your desired server. Note that even if the bot is already in your desired server, the Add Bot button may still show up on the UI - feel free to ignore it.

Create role in server

Create the desired role you want to assign to verified keyholders. Copy Role ID and save it somewhere - you will need it while adding a membership rule on the dashboard. You will need to enable to Developer Mode in Advanced settings in order to see the Copy Role ID button when you right-click your desired role.

Verify bot order

Go to your Server Settings and ensure that the bot is above any roles you may want the bot to assign to users. See the example below - Friend.Gate role (bot) is above Alerts role (example role to assign to verified keyholders).

Setup bot in server

The final step is to create a verification channel and run /initialize command (only server owners can run this command).

This will create an embed through which users will be able to connect their Twitter account.

Once all this is set up, you can start configuring membership criteria in Membership Rules.
